Roasted in small batches in Temecula, California.
Grocery-shelf coffee was roasted months ago. Ours is roasted in small batches by our roasting partner, Temecula Coffee Roasters, then shipped straight to you — it arrives still degassing from the roast.
Don't know beans? Three taps and we do.

"You shouldn't need a glossary to buy a bag of coffee. You should need about nine seconds."
First Mile exists because the best coffee in America got buried under the worst language. Single-origin this, micro-lot that — and you still don't know if you'll like it.
So we write every bag like a friend would: what it tastes like and what to brew it with. The fancy part is the freshness. The rest is plain English.
Before you brew.
How fresh is "fresh," actually?
Your coffee is roasted in small batches in Temecula, California, and ships with tracking on every order. It reaches you while the beans are still degassing from the roast.
Whole bean or ground?
Both. Pick whole bean, or tell us your brewer (drip, pour-over, French press, espresso) and we'll grind to match before it ships.
How does the subscription work?
Pick a roast and a rhythm — every 2, 4, or 6 weeks. You save 15% on every delivery, can swap roasts between shipments, and can pause, skip, or cancel in one tap from your account. No calls, no retention maze.
What if my order arrives damaged or wrong?
We reship fast — no return theater. Opened bags are final sale, but damaged or incorrect orders are remediated immediately. Email us and a human-sounding answer comes back quickly.
Where do you ship?
Everywhere in the US. Shipping is free on orders over $40 — which, conveniently, is two bags.
